With pick-your-own season in full swing, ag tourism sites have a host of fun activities for the whole family! Fill up on local produce now by picking your own apples, squash and pumpkins. Want a memorable family outing? Visit La Magie de la Pomme in Saint-Eustache and see the mini-farm, go on a tractor ride, and have your photo taken against a backdrop of giant sunflowers. At Oka’s Labonté de la Pomme – Verger & Miellerie (Labonté de la Pomme – Orchard & Apiary), variety is the name of the game! Come fill your basket with a wide selection of fresh produce, including apples, pears, plums, rhubarb, squash, and pumpkins. Wine lovers? Why wait to have a one-of-a-kind experience at the Vignoble Rivière du Chêne (Rivière du Chêne Winery) grape harvest? On Saturdays and Sundays from September 23 to October 15, come be a picker for a day and harvest your own grapes! If you also want to decorate your home or cook some fall comfort food, head to Centre d’interprétation de la Courge du Québec in Saint-Joseph-du-Lac and pick your vine crops right in the field, with 40 squash and gourd varieties to choose from.
Autumn From High in the Air!
Fall is full of adventure and a great time to grab some thrills! Head out to Acro-Nature Sommet Morin Heights for a tree-to-tree adventure with four obstacle-packed courses, zip lines, and an Ultimate Zone for daredevils. Are you an adrenaline junkie? Want to try the highest mega zip line in the region? Visit Tyroparc in Sainte-Agathe-des-Monts and choose from a range of packages that combine zip lines and via ferrata, or try Cité des bois, an aerial obstacle course that will put your family’s agility to the test. Visit Centre d’activités nature Kanatha-Aki in Val-des-Lacs, a course of 18 zip lines above a rolling stream in the heart of the forest. It also has Escalarbre (tree-climbing), where visitors can reach a treetop through four routes of varying skill levels. Lastly, for those who love a challenge, La liberté Nord-Sud in La Conception has introductory rock-climbing courses amid the stunning scenery of Montagne d’Argent. Vallée Bleue – Station familiale in Val-David has an 11-basket disc golf course, set in the mountains so you can enjoy the fall scenery while advancing to each basket. Explore Le P’tit Train du Nord linear park, a 234-km cycle path that crosses the Laurentians from south to north. Choose a full tour from Mont-Laurier to Saint-Jérôme, or sections of trail where you can explore villages and forests for a few hours. For the more athletic, Corridor aérobique links the town of Morin-Heights to Amherst with 58 km of forest bike path. Like to push your limits? The region’s mountains are always open to mountain bike enthusiasts! Whether you like downhill, cross-country, BMX, freeride, or just having fun in a bike park, the region has something for everyone. To enjoy the magic of this fall spectacle, Sentier des cimes Laurentides in Mont-Blanc boasts unique and stunning views from the top of a 40-metre high panoramic tower. To go even higher when visiting Centre de villégiature Tremblant (Tremblant Resort), sit back and enjoy the panoramic gondola ride as you soar to the top of Mont Tremblant amid dazzling fall colours. Once at the top, take a stroll on the region’s highest peak and go to the 360-degree observation tower for the best possible view. A Festive End to Summer
Fall is in full swing in the Laurentians with the season’s top events! On September 22 and 23, Mont Blanc will host the second edition of Rodéo Fest, a lively, colourful event with professional rodeo performances, line-dancing workshops, motocross, live music, an artisan fair, food trucks, and lots more! With a focus on regional products, the food festival Mirabel fête l’érable du Québec celebrates maple in all its forms on September 23 and 24— a great place to indulge your sweet tooth. Microbrewery fans are in for a treat at Oktobierfest in Sainte-Adèle from September 29 to October 1. On the menu: Street food, artisan booths, outdoor shows, and rides. There are even strongman and axe-throwing contests! Through the season of fall colours, enjoy captivating music at Mont-Tremblant on weekends from September 16 to October 15 during Mélodies d’automne. Round out your day on a terrace in Place Saint-Bernard, and relax to the sounds of local artists.
