This summer, set some time aside for the one you love! The Laurentians are packed with romantic activities for you and your better half: a picnic in the countryside, ultimate relaxation in one of the Laurentians’ many spas, or simply discovering something new together! Why not extend your getaway with a stay in one of the region’s cabins, inns, hotels, holiday resorts, or campgrounds? Here’s what we suggest to inspire your romantic getaways in the Laurentians:
Take a road trip on the Route des Belles-Histoires
Improvise a couple’s road trip on the Route des Belles-Histoires between Saint-Jérôme and Mont-Laurier, and learn about excerpts of the region’s history. Discover the stories of the historical figures that shaped the region, like the renowned Curé Labelle at the Museum Space in Saint-Jérôme; Jack Rabbit at the Laurentian Ski Museum; Claude Henri-Grignon, author of Un homme et son péché (A Man and His Sin), popularized on TV as Les belles histoires des Pays d’en Haut (Tales of the Pays d’en Haut); or even Sainte-Adèle Heritage Tour! Along the way, stop at the old train stations scattered throughout the P’tit Train du Nord, now converted into museums, shops, and even visitor information centres!
Stroll and shopping on a warm summer afternoon
Enjoy an afternoon discovering the shops and stopping for a meal with your loved one. Les Factoreries Tanger Saint-Sauveur offers a charming stroll through colourful outlets at walking distance from the magnificent Rue Principale and its many patios. Mirabel’s Premium Outlets Montréal and Mont-Tremblant’s Factoreries Tremblant are also worth a visit!
Couple’s picnic at sunset
At Maison Lavande, the fields are open until 9 p.m. every Thursday in July. It’s the perfect time to discover the Maison from under a different light, share a picnic dinner, and enjoy a quiet moment on a summer evening. Feel free to bring your own picnic, but don’t forget to try the bistro’s lavender-flavoured products. No reservations.
See the play titled Nous nous sommes tant aimés (We Loved Each Other So Fondly)
This summer, at the Petit Théâtre du Nord, come and see Simon Boulerice’s latest work, produced by Charles Dauphinais, on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays until August 14. The plot focuses on four high school friends who meet up 30 or so years after graduation. What has come of their hopes and dreams, after all these years? Featuring Marie-Hélène Thibault, who shares the stage with Louise Cardinal, Mélanie St-Laurent, Luc Bougeois, and Sébastien Gauthier.
Discover the Tonga Lumina experience for a memorable evening
Tonga Lumina is a sensory forest experience brought to life by Moment Factory! This 1.5-km night walk in Mont-Tremblant takes place entirely in nature, on a lit path that invites you to discover the mysteries of the legend of the mountain giant. To find the start, visitors are asked to go to the bottom of the Flying Mile chairlift, which takes them halfway up the mountain, then continue on to the trailhead. Until October 16,reservations required.
Treat yourself to a couple’s getaway
Treat yourself to a one-of-a-kind experience at Stonehaven Le Manoir, an incredible dwelling from 1908 with an Italian garden, a menu created by Chef Gonzales, and one of the most incredible views of the Laurentians. Several places offer romantic package deals, like the Romance package deal at Estérel Resort hotel, which includes one night in a spacious suite with fireplace, bottle of bubbly, and access to Lido Thermal, beach and summer bar. The Couple’s Getaway Package at Manoir Saint-Sauveur includes one night in a Signature room, breakfast, a three-course table d’hôte dinner, and a bottle of sparkling wine delivered to your room. For the perfect couple’s weekend!
For a delightful outing on the water
Croisières Mont-Tremblant invites you to discover breathtaking landscapes in a magical setting provided by the Laurentian mountains. With several daily departures, the captain and crew share stories and legends of the region. Spend a memorable evening aboard the Grand Manitou II and enjoy a meal at sunset, or, for something a little more eccentric, brunch with a view, Saturday dinner cruises and Sunday brunch cruises offered until September 6, 2021.
A vineyard outing for wine lovers
For the ultimate romantic outing, visit one of the region’s vineyards! At Rivière du Chêne Winery, enjoy tastings with commentary, gourmet platters on the patio, and the bistro menu to discover wine and meal pairings for two. At La Bullerie, discover a delightful location in the Oka Valley for a heart-to-heart in the countryside. Book your wine tasting and picnic basket now!
A relaxing spa outing
The Laurentians have everything to help you relax. Make the most of this veritable wellbeing destination’s pools in the heart of nature, authentic saunas, and much more! The region’s spas offer thermal experiences, massages, and one-of-a-kind body treatments. Enjoy a few hours or a full day of pampering with your loved one. Visit the Spas in the Laurentians section!
Discover the bubbles under the stars experience

Inside are a bedroom with a king-sized bed, a living room with a gas fireplace, a kitchen area, and a full bathroom. A ride on horseback
Looking for something different? Come for a ride on horseback in the region for a memorable outing. At Ranch La Douceur in Sainte-Agathe-des-Monts, opt for the one-hour guided horseback ride or the two-hour package deal that includes brushing and saddling the horse in addition to the ride itself. At Kanatha-Aki in Val-des-Lacs, choose from three different types of ride for beginner or intermediate riders. Accompanied by a professional guide, follow the bison paths to discover forest and mountain trails. A wonderful way of discovering the untouched parts of the Laurentians!
Treat yourself to an intimate gourmet dinner
Is there anything more romantic than dinner on a patio on a warm summer day? Or, do you prefer a couple’s brunch, a multi-course gastronomic discovery, local traditional cuisine, even a bistro menu at a local microbrewery? The Laurentians have something for everyone!
