From August 8 to 12, Festi-Jazz in Mont-Tremblant celebrates its 5th birthday!
For the fifth consecutive year, the heart of Mont-Tremblant will beat to the rhythm of jazz with more than 40 free concerts presented from August 8 to 12. Vic Vogel, spokesperson for the 2012 edition, will be playing on Saturday, August 11 at 7 p.m., on one of the two outdoor stages in the downtown sector. A dozen cafés, restaurants, bars and hotels in Mont-Tremblant, in both downtown and old village sectors, will also be presenting concerts as part of the Jazz & Grill Series.
Kim Richardson will get the show underway with a tribute to Billie Holiday on Wednesday August 8, followed by five days of superb jazz. From 1 p.m. every day until the Festi Jam Festif presented every evening at 10:30 p.m., well-known artists will be taking the stage, including Karen Young, Michel Donato, Jeff Johnston, and Jocelyn Couture with his tribute to Maynard Ferguson. The group Maracuja and musicians from the Cirque du Soleil production of Delirium will close the event on Sunday, August 12 at 9 p.m. A high point of this birthday edition, the Oliver Jones Trio will give one of the most popular performances on Friday, August 10 at 9 p.m., just having received the Festival’s 2012 Jazz Tribute Award.
Upcoming musicians and music lovers will also appreciate the new educational segment in the form of “meetings and Master Class” every day at 11 a.m., when they will have a chance to discuss with participating musicians and watch some live demonstrations of musical talent.
