Looking for a one-of-a-kind gift for your loved ones for the Holidays? This year, give the gift of skiing! The Laurentians’ ski resorts have something for everyone on your list. Take the opportunity to create unforgettable moments with family and friends and make memories that will last a lifetime. Here’s what the Laurentians’ ski resorts have to offer:
Are you looking for something to do with your family or friends during spring break? The Laurentians region, located only 30 minutes from Montreal, abounds in activities and fun events: sledding, snowshoeing or cross-country skiing, indoor games, downhill skiing, sleigh rides and much more! There is something for everyone.
The parks of the Laurentians are renowned as wonderful wild places to have fun and enjoy the fresh air. Laurentian parks have so much to offer: visitors can choose from a wide array of unique activities. With so many options, you may just have to toss a coin to decide what to do first!
They say children have a huge influence on their parents when it comes to choosing a holiday destination. That was certainly the case in our family, when our two teens practically begged us to book a family suite at the Super 8 hotel in Sainte-Agathe-des-Monts! Why were they so insistent that we choose that 74-room hotel midway between Saint-Sauveur and Mont-Tremblant?
Was it the indoor pool with its 24-metre water slide and water jets? The suite featuring a themed room for kids with bunk beds, TV and Xbox game console? Or the crispy waffles served with the free continental breakfast? I suspect it was also because we were able to bring our dog along on the trip, because the Super 8 hotel accepts pets. And probably because, like us, our children have great memories of our stay at the Super 8 in Saint-Jérôme. In the 81-room complex there, we had enjoyed the same amenities and services and discovered a host of attractions and a wide range of restaurants in that city, which is just teeming with activities.
This time, we took advantage of the proximity of downtown Saint-Agathe-des-Monts with its shops and the beach on Lac des Sables, which make the Super 8 an ideal location. Not to mention the other activities we did as a family, from hiking to cycling through the Le P’tit Train du Nord linear park, and the comedy show at the famous Le Patriote theatre.
Our kids were absolutely right to choose this resort: both the one in Saint-Jérôme and the one in Sainte-Agathe-des-Monts provided perfect places for family getaways that were memorable, and also incredibly affordable, thanks to their great rates and the fact that children aged 17 and under stay for free!
It’s a nice summer evening in the heart of the Laurentians and you are wondering what to do? You’ll be happy to hear that there will be a series of activities taking place all summer long in Saint-Jérôme. From June 18 to August 20, more than sixty events are organized: music concerts, theme days for the whole family, shows for the little ones in the parks, exhibitions, guided tours and much more. The Estivales Canadian Tire de Saint-Jérôme is definitely a must this summer!
Every week-end, multiple artists will thrill the audience at the Rolland amphitheater. Whether you are a blues fan or prefer pop, country, folk or World music, there will be something for everyone! Once again this year, the popular Jeudis dans l’tapis will be held at the end of the summer. These are three concerts that cater to young adults or dynamic spectators who want to end their happy hour on Thursday on a more upbeat note!
Many artists will be performing : Sally Folk, Jah&I, Habana Café, Mamselle Ruiz, Monkey Junk, Ben Racine Band, Bob Walsh, Alex Nevsky, Sarah Toussaint-Léveillé, King Melrose, Kenny Roads and the Vagabonds, Véronique Labbé, Dylan Perron & Elixir de Gumbo, Singin’ Rendez-Vous and the Ragtime Band, Harmonie de Saint-Jérôme, La Cantinière, Les Poules à Colin, Jérô-Show, Andréa Lindsay and Luc de Larochellière, les Sœurs Boulay, Klô Pelgag and Les Frères à Ch’val!
You can purchase a season pass for $10. A great deal for 20 shows and many other events! Passes are available at Canadian Tire, Place de la Gare (Tourist Information Bureau), at the three libraries, Quartier 50 + and at the Rolland amphitheatre on show evenings. Present you pass and get access to the site and free admission to exhibits at the Musée d’art contemporain des Laurentides.
I will now leave you with these words: enjoy the shows! 🙂
