The majestic Lac des Sables in Sainte-Agathe-des-Monts will play host to the Festival Lumières sur le Lac, a unique multimedia event combining water and laser presented from August 3 to 12. With its video projections on a 36-meter (110 feet)-tall water screen produced by 21 fountains, the show Cycle will dazzle festival-goers every evening at 9 p.m. and again at 11 p.m.
The first edition of the Festival also aims at opening to the world, with nine different countries displaying their cultural and gastronomic riches, as well as their arts and crafts. Every day from 11:30 a.m. to 11:30 p.m., Place Lagny will be the site of various shows, entertainment and kiosks so visitors may discover the featured country of the day. Following the opening presentations by Quebec artists Joe Bocan, the group Motel 72 and comedian and imitator André-Philippe Gagnon, the countries of Jamaica, France, Israel, Italy, Brazil, Ireland, the United States, Québec/Canada and Cuba will hold the scene one after another. Concerts by internationally-renowned artists on the big stage every night at 9:30 p.m., including among others, Marco Calliari, Dennis DeYoung of Styx, Robert Charlebois and Cubamanos, as well as tributes to Bob Marley and Joe Dassin. Daily presentations include shows for children at 3 p.m. and presentations by local artists at 8 p.m.
