La Liberté Nord-Sud in La Conception teaches various types of climbing, including rock climbing and mountaineering techniques. It offers specialized climbing courses that focus on beginner climbers, top rope anchoring, lead climbing, and more. Passe-Montagne climbing school in Val-David has a wide range of courses for all skill levels. You can try a private, semi-private, or group class, or go on a guided climb. The picturesque Poisson Blanc regional park in Notre-Dame-du-Laus is also a great climbing destination.  Each of its island climbing sites can only be accessed by boat.  There’s something for everyone, with spots to suit a wide variety of climbing styles. The Laurentians have lots to offer when it comes to family fun. These unique activities will bring wonder to both the young and young at heart! Take your budding adventurers on an ostrich safari at Nid’Otruche in Saint-Eustache! They’ll discover the life of the ostrich, from chick to full-grown bird, on a 30-minute tractor ride or 60-minute walk. You’ll have a blast at the centre’s mini farm and ostrich farming museum. Do your kids need a place to burn pent-up energy on a hot summer day? Take them to Zone MbPark in Mont-Blanc, where they can play on a wide variety of floating inflatables on the lake. Or, try the park’s wakeboard cable experience for a splashing good time! Animal lovers will adore Du coq à l’âne des Laurentides in Huberdeau, which offers fun activities with farm animals all summer long. Take a stroll with a donkey, pet a rabbit, feed ducks, and more! Skiing in summer? You bet!

Wish you could still hit the slopes? There’s no need to wait for snowflakes to fall! Head to the Laurentians for unique ways to enjoy your favourite winter sports in the summer season. If you love cross-country skiing, contact Val-Morin’s Rollerski.ca and discover the sport of roller skiing. Rent a pair of roller skis to explore the natural beauty nearby or book a lesson to hone your skills. The company also rents kayaks, paddle boards and foot bikes. From June 27 to July 2, visit Akamp at Sommet Saint-Sauveur – versant Avila, the only summer snowboard and freeskiing snow park in Eastern Canada. Develop survivalist skills during a one-day introductory forest survival course. Or, learn more about traditional trapping techniques on a coureur des bois adventure. You’ll be sure to see the forest in a new light! Seeking to reconnect with the environment, Gourmet Sauvage in Mont-Blanc will teach you how to gather ingredients and use medicinal plants. It’s a great way to learn more about your surroundings as you venture into the Laurentian forest. Love to get active? Voile Sansoucy offers instruction in eFoil (electric surfing), stand-up paddle yoga and sailing on Lac des Deux Montagnes in Pointe-Calumet. Love a thrill? Visit Aventures plein air St-Hippolyte with a group of friends to experience a Jeep safari adventure. Prefer watersports? Wakeboarding, waterskiing, wakesurfing and kneeboarding await, with a boat and guide to make it a day to remember. Motorcycle enthusiasts can book a Laurentian road trip with B46 Adventure in Mont-Tremblant. Ride past lakes, forests and rivers on a journey through nature reserves and national parks, spending the night at campsites and outfitters. You must have a valid licence and be comfortable on a motorcycle. Discover the world of sled dogs in summer at Alaskan Aventure in Arundel. Enjoy an introduction to cani-hiking and meet the dog pack. It’s the perfect opportunity to learn more about the lives of sled dogs. With all these activities, you won’t have a chance to get bored this summer!

Unique summer entertainment

As the summer season commences, the Laurentians offer a wealth of events and activities to enjoy. Love to laugh? Don’t miss the inaugural Joyeux Mont-Laurier comedy festival from June 15 to 17, or the second annual Joyeux Mont-Tremblant festival from July 27 to 29 for three days of laughs and fun for the whole family. From July 15 to 23, discover the art galleries of the Basses-Laurentides during the Route des Arts. Creative workshops, boutiques and fine crafts await during this unique open door event.
