For many, March is sugaring season! Maples have made spring a party with their sweet sap, annually bringing together families and friends for sugaring time. The Laurentian region has many sugar houses where joy always awaits in the pure traditions of the past. Your getaway is a great chance to stay in the region’s inns, hotels and resorts. We invite you to come experience the flavours of maple sugar in the Laurentians:

La Cabane à Tuque – Mont-Tremblant

Located in Mont-Tremblant, La Cabane à Tuque welcomes you from February to the end of April. An out-of-the-ordinary cabin where hospitality comes first. The owners host up to 35 guests in their welcoming home made out of hemp. They offer tasty, all-you-can-eat tradition-inspired sugar house meals that are 100% vegetarian and cooked on the spot with local organic ingredients.

Take the time to taste syrup boiled the old-fashioned way on a wood-fired evaporator and take a walk around the trails of the sugar bush on snowshoes. La Tablée des Pionniers – Saint-Faustin-Lac-Carré

This gourmet sugar house in Saint-Faustin-Lac-Carré bears a name that honours local artisans and celebrates a family dining experience that is offered up in a friendly atmosphere. In a rustic setting, the Tablée des Pionniers team will welcome you with a smile, authenticity and simplicity.

Varying with the seasons, their menu draws from traditional recipes, while giving them a new twist, and showcases the wealth of the region’s productsFrom March 1 to May 6, 2018. By reservation only, open from Thursday to Sunday.

Cabane à sucre Lalande – Saint-Eustache

More than one hundred years have passed since the first sugaring party, and since then, people have continued enjoying the Cabane à Sucre Lalande while tasting the wonderful dishes of yesteryear. They come to enjoy the fresh and delicious products that are carefully crafted according to the ancestral culinary traditions that have made the Cabane à Sucre Lalande famous.

A singer, musical games, wooden spoons and call-and-response songs are all on site. Young and old alike will enjoy the petting farm, entertainment and friendly competitions. It is also possible to visit the sugar bush, either by hiking or taking an excursion in a horse-drawn sleigh. Cabane à sucre Constantin – Saint-Eustache

The Constantin family…. a beautiful love story! Since 1941, three generations have been cooking up outstanding Canadian-style meals for you. In the spring, during sugaring season, the tradition continues. All-you-can-eat Canadian fare and maple taffy on snow are served every day.

In addition, Produits d’Antan concocts all sorts of jams and marinades, maple products, maple syrup, frozen food and ready-to-eat home-cooked dishes for you. The products are available all year at their store. Store hours: year-round, Monday to Saturday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Young and old alike will also appreciate the many activities offered on-site, including rides in a sleigh drawn by two beautiful horses, horseback riding, a petting farm, a visit to the maple syrup boiling house, the haunted maple maze, indoor arcades and dance parties with entertainment, an outdoor fireplace, inflatable games and electrifying light shows. From February 17 to April 29, 2018. Cabane à pommes à l’érable Labonté de la Pomme – Oka

The unique Apple shack is located in a family-run orchard with a rustic country atmosphere! It offers a gourmet concept that highlights regional products and culinary practices, and an antique wood stove fed with apple-tree wood and used outdoors for cooking treats in a festive, rustic atmosphere.

Cabane à sucre Arthur Raymond – Piedmont

Close to everything yet far away on a mountaintop, the Cabane à sucre Arthur Raymond is proud of its long tradition and the service it has now provided for 63 years. Mr. and Mrs. Raymond have handed the company over to several of their children, but they still make sure that the recipes keep their original flavours.

Just like the food, the cabin, which is made from barn boards, has kept its old-fashioned structure, and the music will immerse you in a family and traditional atmosphere. From March 3 to April 29, 2018. It is best to make reservations, especially on weekends.

La P’tite Cabane d’la Côte – Mirabel

Come relive the sugar house traditions of yesteryear by enjoying a hearty, elegant meal. The old, rustic cabin and the variety of antique tools hanging on the walls and scattered around the property give this place the feel of a little museum.

Walk along the paths of the sugar bush with its buckets and spouts, or go for an excursion in a sleigh drawn by our Belgian thoroughbred horses.

Cabane à sucre Nantel – Saint-Hippolyte

Since 1974, the Cabane à sucre Nantel in Saint-Hippolyte has been known for its warm atmosphere, rustic interior and, above all, for the exceptional quality of its meals. All meals are homemade. You can taste maple taffy on snow in the evaporator room, which is adjacent to the sugar house. Explanations will be given on site.

Then, to top it all off, you have the choice of taking a nice walk along the wooded trail or visiting the small farm, or for those wishing to stay warm, the dance hall is available with music and entertainment. Au Petit Poucet – Sugar House Meal – Val-David

Since 1945, the Au Petit Poucet restaurant offers authentic Quebec specialties. It is possible to enjoy a truly traditional “sugar house” meal and real maple taffy on snow throughout the year.

Renowned for their famous maple-wood-smoked ham and delicious beans, the rest of their menu consists of pea soup, crispy pork jowls, puff omelettes, pure maple syrup, homemade marinades, fruit ketchup and finally, crêpes with warm sucre à la crème for dessert.

Les Sucreries Jetté – La Mirablière – Mirabel

La Mirablière is a family sugar house that has been making maple products for five generations. Purchase some maple syrup and other maple products, including butter, taffy, jelly, caramel and more, and then enjoy a peaceful walk on site in the sugar bush. During your stop, the Jetté family will be happy to show you around the facilities and offer you a glass of reduced maple water, available in season.

Aux Saveurs du Printemps – Mirabel

Versant Avila Sugar Shack – Piedmont

This spring, the Versant Avila Sugar Shack will be offering the traditionally sweet meal for the whole family as well as a new concept: vegan and vegetarian meals. At the foot of the Versant Avila hillside and a short walk from the snow tubing area, the Sugar Shack welcomes you with its golden maple taffy on snow and a sea of maple syrup.
