Amusement parks you don’t want to miss!
At Sommet Saint-Sauveur, tear down the mountain aboard the Viking, and continue your visit on the Dragon, a double zipline that lets you soar through the park with a friend. Parc F.U.N. has several other rides for you to enjoy. End the day with a round of minigolf, surrounded by lavish fountains and plants. Located in Sainte-Adèle, Pays des Merveilles opened June 24, and our little ones are ecstatic! Come and meet Alice, Snow White, and Cinderella for a day they won’t forget. And make sure to add a visit to the Village du Père Noël to your list, as it’s one of the region’s classics!
Discover the region’s animals
A family favourite, no outing with your little ones is complete without a visit to some of the Laurentians’ animals! Check out one of the region’s petting zoos, like Ranch La Douceur or Intermiel. Discover Ferme Belarroyo in Mirabel, an alpaca farm that aims to spread awareness about this adorable creature and the fiber transformation process. Nid’Otruche offers a 30-minute tractor safari (or 60 minutes on foot) to discover the ostrich, this incredible animal, from the time it hatches to adult life. Located in Huberdeau, Du Coq à l’Âne des Laurentides invites you to come and see, pet, and even feed the farm animals at your own pace or with a guide at a set time.
Sentier des cimes Laurentides
A brand new tourist destination is opening its doors in the Laurentians this summer! The Sentier des cimes Laurentides in Mont-Blanc (Saint-Faustin-Lac-Carré) is a forest trail just shy of 1 km long on a wooden structures that blends into nature. The trail ends with a 40-metre observation tower in the heart of the forest, where you can get a 360° view of the region’s surrounding landscapes and mountains. The short distance, gradual elevation, and gentle slope make it the perfect place for a family stroll! The trail is accessible to wheelchair users and strollers. Expected opening in early July!
For an immersive experience
Dive into the magical world of the Route des Gerbes d’Angélica’s themed gardens in Mirabel. Until late September, check out the La forêt enchantée and the Le village de Lucio trails and an activity made up of riddles about the fairy world based on a tale called La Reine des Fleurs. To stretch your legs, come and meet the residents of L’archipel Amélio in Saint-Jérôme! Help them in their everyday lives by completing an adventure circuit, scale ninja obstacles, contribute to collective artworks, solve scientific mysteries, and much more! Finally, check out Tonga Lumina in Mont-Tremblant once the sun has set. This 1.5-km walk takes place at night and entirely in nature, on a lit gravel path. Ready to follow the giant’s footsteps?
Explore the region by bike
Longing for a bike ride with the kids on a sunny day? The P’tit Train du Nord crosses the region from south to north over 234 km between Bois-des-Filion and Mont-Laurier. Travel through lovely villages and discover restaurants, shops, parks, and much more! Located close to the trail, Cycles Cadieux in Saint-Jérôme, Espresso Sports in Sainte-Adèle, and Expérience SK in Mont-Tremblant offer bike rentals in order to give everyone the opportunity to enjoy this Laurentian wonder. At Parc national d’Oka and Parc national du Mont-Tremblant, ride peacefully through nature with your little and not-so-little ones through incredible landscapes and viewpoints. Family fishing outing
Introduce your children to fishing at one of the region’s parks or outfitters! Parc de la Rivière des Mille-Îles in Rosemère invites your little adventurers to try out family fishing with a guide in order to discover the various species of fish that inhabit the river and learn to identify the best spots for a successful catch! In Mirabel, Parc régional éducatif Bois de Belle-Rivière offers pond fishing with plenty of rainbow trout to enjoy. Equipment rentals available on site. To learn about an ancestral fishing technique, head to Centre d’activités nature Kanatha-Aki in Val-des-Lacs and catch your trout by hand in a stream. Catch guaranteed for all!
Go on an adventure!
Do you love an adrenaline rush? Slip on your running shoes and fly through the treetops with Acro-Nature at Sommet Morin-Heights. Try out an aerial obstacle course, ziplining, or, for the more athletic at heart, tackle the Ultimate Zone. At Tyroparc in Sainte-Agathe-des-Monts, the Cité des Bois features a variety of circuits, combining games of agility and balance. Do your young ones love a challenge? There’s no better place than Ziptrek Écotours Tremblant! An unforgettable adventure offers the opportunity to zoom down Mount Tremblant from the summit to the pedestrian village on one of five ziplines spanning nearly 4 km. If you’re looking to be immersed in the backcountry, Action Tremblant in La Conception invites you to discover its 10-zipline circuit with spectacular views of the Rouge River.
For a family stroll
Take a moment for some family time in nature by walking through and admiring the region’s incredible viewpoints! Parc régional de la Rivière-du-Nord in Saint-Jérôme is a remarkable place to escape to the outdoors and appreciate the beauty of the Wilson Falls. At Parc de la Rivière Doncaster in Sainte-Adèle, take a stroll along the shores of the river, in the forest, or for a more athletic pursuit, on the mountain. Further north, with a vast network of trails, Parc national du Mont-Tremblant guarantees some quality time with landscapes that reflect the Laurentians’ true nature.
