Family activities to stay cool and play in the water
With the early arrival of summer and its stifling heat this year, come and cool off with your family at one of the region’s beaches. As of June 19, you can also book your outing to one of two outdoor water parks in the region: Parc aquatique du Sommet Saint-Sauveur and Super Aqua Club. For a short, free outing near you, check your municipality’s website to discover or rediscover parks with water activities, where fun is guaranteed!
Family thrills
Do you love adventure and adrenaline? First, soar through the treetops with Acro-Nature at Sommet Morin Heights and its aerial adventure courses for ages 6 and up. Raise the bar and book a family package at Tyroparc in Sainte-Agathe-des-Monts. Children over the age of 5 can use the mega-ziplines. For the via ferrata, the minimum age is 10. Looking to push your limits and take on a challenge? There’s no better place than Ziptrek Écotours Tremblant! An unforgettable adventure with the opportunity to zoom down Mont Tremblant from the summit to the pedestrian village using one of five ziplines that span nearly 4 kilometres. Ages 7 and up.
Discover canoeing or kayaking
Looking to find the best water in the Laurentians? Why not try canoeing or kayaking with the entire family? Canoe Kayak Arundel offers private access to the Rivière Beaven. The calm, shimmering water is perfect for beginners! Take a trip down a calm river with À l’Abordage, located in Val-David on the Rivière du Nord or in Mont-Tremblant on the Rivière du Diable. Several packages available! Rouge & Diable also offers canoe or kayak river descent packages on the Rivière du Diable and on the Rivière Rouge. For its part, the Labelle-based Kayak & Cabana organizes 12-km trips on the Rivière Rouge by kayak, canoe, or stand-up paddle board. Soak up the benefits of nature and the outdoors!
Family picnic
Several parks and attractions offer picnic areas specifically designed for you and your family to enjoy a delicious meal! Don’t have a picnic? Some companies offer takeout menus or baskets for you to enjoy on site, like the wood-fired pizza from La Bullerie or the rustic gourmet picnic from Labonté de la Pomme. Introduction to fishing for children
Teach your children to fish at one of the region’s parks or outfitters! Many of them stock their lakes and ponds, making it easier for children to catch something and enjoy their experience. Visit the drive-in movie theatre
Ciné-parc Belle-Neige is now open! Playing this week: Les Croods 2 and Tom & Jerry on screen 1 and Godzilla vs. Kong and Mortal Kombat on screen 2. Movies start at 8:45 a.m. and cost $10.44 for ages 11 and up, $6.09 for ages 4 to 10, and free for ages 0 to 3. Family visit to the petting zoo
What better way to spread joy and feel young at heart again than to spend time with animals? Visit one of the region’s animal parks, like Action Tremblant, Ranch La Douceur, or Intermiel. Discover Ferme Belarroyo in Mirabel, an alpaca farm that aims to spread awareness about this adorable creature and the fleece transformation process. Nid’Otruche offers a 30-minute tractor safari—60 minutes on foot—to discover the ostrich, this incredible animal, from the time it hatches to adult life. At Kanatha–Aki nature activity centre, come and discover the bison herd!
Intro to Disc Golf and Footgolf
An increasingly popular sport, disc-golf or frisbee golf follows the same basic rules as golf, but the ball and the clubs are replaced by a frisbee and the hole is replaced by a basket. Learn to play this new sport at Parc régional éducatif Bois de Belle-Rivière, now open, and at Vallée Bleue ski resort from early July to mid-October!Footgolf at Le Sélect Activity Centre and Golf Course is a new sport that combines soccer and golfing and guarantees you a 2-hour hike on the golf course. Toddlers can even accompany their parents in a stroller and spend the day with Mom and Dad.
Visit an amusement park
At Sommet Saint-Sauveur, tear down the mountain on the Viking, and continue your visit on the Dragon, a double zipline that lets you soar through the park with a friend. Parc F.U.N. has several other rides for you to enjoy. End the day with a round of minigolf, surrounded by lavish fountains and plants. Weekends of June 5–6, 12–13, and every day starting June 19. Located in Sainte-Adèle, the Pays des Merveilles opens its doors on June 19, and our little ones can’t wait! Come and meet Alice, Snow White, and Cinderella for a day they won’t forget. And don’t forget to mark your calendars, because the Village du Père Noël is opening! Don’t miss this classic attraction in the region.
A getaway in Mont-Tremblant
Tremblant Activity Centre has plenty of activities to keep your family busy in the outdoors. Visit the pedestrian village and let yourself be tempted to a luge ride, thanks to Skyline Luge Mont-Tremblant. Each luge has a braking and steering system designed to give the driver total control down the mountain. Go as fast or as slow as you like and make your ride an unforgettable experience! Starting June 18, experience the Tonga Lumina once the sun goes down. This Moment Factory 1.5-km night walk takes place entirely in nature, on a lit gravel path.
