This magical winter season, make the most of the stunning Laurentian landscape in these regional gems packed with natural attractions and distinctive wildlife. The Laurentians are a dream destination for total winter immersion.

For a headache-free outing

To fully enjoy a day in the outdoors, head to the region’s parks with their plethora of on-site activities to cater to all needs. For a simple winter walk, snowshoeing, or cross-country skiing, head to Parc régional éducatif Bois de Belle-Rivière in Mirabel to explore one of the most beautiful forested areas in the surroundings. Skate through a 2.5-km ice trail in the forest, or come sledding with the family on one of two 20-metre sledding hills. Most importantly, don’t miss the first edition of the Festival Bière des Bois, scheduled for March 22 to 24 on the park site. Microbrewery beers, music, concerts, scrumptious sugar shack, and much more on the schedule.

In Saint-Jérôme, Parc régional de la Rivière-du-Nord also offers winter walking, snowshoeing, and cross-country skiing in a total change of scenery. Take the trails to get to the beautiful Wilson Falls, or discover the circuit historique and its 13 signs relating the history of the park and its vestiges. If you enjoy art, combine it with your passion for nature and visit the sentier des Arts, where creations made from driftwood describe the park’s history. These parks have everything you need for a simple, successful outing!

For a mountain escape

Looking for a challenge? Head to the heart of the region to discover a sublime mountain playground which is perfect for exciting winter activities. Located in Sainte-Adèle, Parc du Mont Loup-Garou has several kilometres of trails designed for use by snowshoers, cross-country skiers, and fatbikers simultaneously. No matter the sport, enjoy the magnificent viewpoints and check out the shelter at the top of the mountain for a well-deserved break. Enjoy the fresh air and magical landscapes to recharge your batteries!

Discover or rediscover the magic of Parc régional Val-David-Val-Morin and its renowned Mount Condor and Mount King, accessible by snowshoe in winter. Choose from a variety of trails to find your perfect route and incredible viewpoints! Otherwise, explore one of the most beautiful trail networks by cross-country ski, and enjoy incredible sledding in an outing with your children. Dress warmly; now’s the time to enjoy all the snow!

For adventure in the Upper Laurentians

Discover the essence of nature with a visit to the Upper Laurentians, a one-of-a-kind outdoor destination! Start by treating yourself to a solo immersive experience with a stay in a tiny house next to the water at Parc régional du Poisson Blanc in Notre-Dame-du-Laus. Get to your tiny house by foot or snowshoe while you pull your bags in a sled; then, enjoy some rest in unparalleled coziness and nature. Outdoor sports enthusiast? Beginners and experts alike are invited to fasten their cross-country skis, snowshoes, or Hok skis to discover a massive, magical land where few have been!

Next, the accommodation at Parc régional Montagne du Diable in Ferme-Neuve is exceptional, including nature cottages, tiny houses, mountain cabins, ready-to-camp setups, and winter camping to cater to all types of adventurer. Combine your overnight stay with winter activities like snowshoeing, classic skiing, Nordic skiing, skate skiing, or even fatbiking, all accessible within a grandiose scenery, to make for an unforgettable outdoor experience. Brand-new this season: take the tracked shuttle to the top of Diable Mountain, and visit the fire tower (21-metre observation tower)!

For a successful family outing

Enjoy the outdoors all together! Located in Mirabel, Parc du Domaine Vert has loads of activities to cater to the entire family: cross-country skiing trails; snowshoeing, skating, and fatbiking trails, sledding hill, hiking paths and canine corridor! You can rent all kinds of equipment, such as cross-country skis, snowshoes, sledding tubes, and fatbikes, from the main chalet.

In Sainte-Adèle, the views at Parc de la Rivière Doncaster are incredible, and they’re even accessible with young children! The long family trail is easy and runs along the river, for the perfect snowshoe or winter walk outing. Snowshoes are available for rent on site.

To the north, Domaine Saint-Bernard in Mont-Tremblant is a huge playground for both young and old! You can go cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, or winter walking. The rental centre rents skis, spikes, and snowshoes. Go nuts in the snow with your family!

Our incredible national parks

Explore the national parks in the Laurentians and get access to hundreds of kilometres of snow. Athletes can follow the cross-country ski and snowshoe tracks and even tackle higher summits for a breathtaking view. Trails of all levels are available for everyone to have a blast in their own way! This winter, take advantage of free admission three days a week, until March 13. The free admission schedule changes weekly.

Make sure to bring the entire family, since rentals are free for children 17 and under! So, visit Parc national d’Oka and Parc national du Mont-Tremblant now and take advantage of all the skiing, hiking, snowshoeing, sledding, fatbiking activities, and more! To extend your stay, book a cottage, cabin, or even campsite to go winter camping and have fun in the snow for a few days.

Explore a vast, natural territory

Discover the wild outdoors and admire the majestic landscapes and abundant wildlife. Make the most of the joys of winter at Parc Éco Laurentides in Mont-Blanc, and practice your favourite winter sports in a welcoming and friendly atmosphere. Discover kilometres of cross-country ski and snowshoe trails all while you admire a landscape packed with forests, lakes, and mountains. Looking to get off the beaten path? Explore the landscape from a different perspective with Nordic skiing!

Then, extend the fun with a stay in a cabin in the trees next to the water with Refuges Perchés Mont-Tremblant, located directly in the protected park. Alternatively, snowmobile enthusiasts will love Réserve faunique Rouge-Matawin, located in La Macaza! Take Trans-Québec 63 trail, which crosses the reserve over 80 km, and soak in the beauty of the wilderness and the Matawin River. Keep an eye out; you might spot some white-tailed deer!
