Explore the parks as a family

Parc national d’Oka and Parc national du Mont-Tremblant offer a host of activities such as hiking, snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, fatbiking, sledding, and much more. In addition to its best-known activities, Parc national d’Oka invites you to discover kicksledding! Admission and equipment rentals are free for participants aged 18 and under. Parc de la Rivière Doncaster in Sainte-Adèle features stunning waterfalls along 10 km of trails. Heated shelters are available for you and the kids to warm up after an invigorating hike or snowshoe. Note that snowshoes are available for rent.
Go sledding in the parks
There’s no age limit on sledding, which continues to be a popular activity! In Mirabel, Parc régional éducatif Bois de Belle-Rivière’s 20-meter slope and tube rentals are the perfect recipe for fun. Sledding is also offered at Parc du Domaine Vert, making for an adrenaline-packed day in a family environment. Rent a tube or bring your crazy carpet for safe sledding. In Mont-Tremblant, Domaine Saint-Bernard is a charmer with its human-made sledding hill and rest area with a fireplace. Don’t forget that you can pair sledding with other activities on site.
Stay in one of the region’s parks
For a perfect weekend in the heart of nature, book accommodation in one of the Laurentians’ parks! Parc Éco Laurentides in Saint-Faustin-Lac-Carré offers brand-new hiking, snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, Nordic skiing, and fatbiking trails. For a one-of-a-kind experience, spend the night in a cabin in the trees at Les Refuges Perchés, located in the park. On the shores of an incredible reservoir, Parc régional du Poisson Blanc in Notre-Dame-Du-Laus offers miniature forest cabin rentals for the utmost comfort. To recharge after a day in the outdoors, Parc régional Montagne du Diable in Ferme-Neuve offers a variety of accommodations in the heart of nature such as cabins, nature cottages, and tiny houses.
Special activities in the parks
To discover the region from another angle, try something out of the ordinary! Discover Réserve faunique de Papineau-Labelle from a dogsled for a one-day or multi-day expedition with cabin accommodation. For its part, Parc régional Kiamika in Rivière-Rouge invites you to try ice fishing on its magnificent reservoir. Backcountry or telemark enthusiasts will be thrilled to discover the intermediate to expert trails at Parc régional Val-David-Val-Morin, Dufresne sector. In Saint-Jérôme, Parc régional de la Rivière-du-Nord has created an arts trail featuring works made out of driftwood. What’s more, an historic tour and an ecological tour are available to learn more about the park’s history, plants, and wildlife.
For an adrenaline rush in nature
Tackle the turns at Parc du Mont Loup-Garou! Follow the Fat Garou trail for 11.3 km of advanced fatbiking through a mesmerizing scenery. Good technical skills are required to navigate the climb to the shelter and its incredible viewpoints. The cross-country ski trails are all advanced, with 4 km of Nordic ski trails and 11.7 km of tracked trails. To get your adrenaline fix, try traversing the 80-km Réserve faunique Rouge-Matawin by snowmobile, or take the year-round ATV trail through its beautiful landscapes.
