For advanced skiers
The region’s wide variety of trails provides a challenge and adventure for outings that require more experience. Seasoned skiers can enjoy difficult cross-country skiing trails at Parc du Mont Loup-Garou in Sainte-Adèle, with Nordic skiing for an even bigger challenge. There’s also Parc régional Val-David-Val-Morin, Far Hills sector, and L’Interval in Sainte-Lucie-des-Laurentides, which offer a variety of difficult trails and backcountry skiing. Further north, challenge yourself to Ski de fond Mont-Tremblant’s difficult and expert options. Whether you prefer tracks or the backcountry, there’s something for everyone!
Cross-country skiing on the P’tit Train du Nord and Parc du Corridor aérobique
Spanning several kilometers, the P’tit Train du Nord Linear Park is perfect for beginners and to get back in shape. Divided into two sectors, it stretches from Saint-Jérôme to Val-David over 44.4 km and from Saint-Faustin-Lac-Carré to Lac Mercier in Mont-Tremblant over 29.3 km. Admission to the park is free, and there are two wax rooms in Piedmont and Saint-Adèle. With its incredible forest inventory, the Parc du Corridor aérobique is the perfect place for beginners or to train. It is divided into two parts, from Morin-Heights to Wentworth-Nord and from Lac-des-Seize-Îles to Montcalm. The first segment spans 8.5 km and the second segment, 7.7 km, and park entry fees apply.
For a cross-country ski outing
If you’re hungry for adventure, a cross-country ski outing in the Laurentians is nothing but fun! At Parc régional Montagne du Diable, there are 96 km of classic, skate skiing, Nordic skiing, and Hok skiing trails for your trek. Several services are available to make your experience an exceptional one, such as baggage transportation, rustic accommodation, and day shelters in the mountains. For a long Nordic outing, Parc national du Mont-Tremblant and Réserve faunique de Papineau-Labelle offer the possibility of covering hundreds of packed trails with several shelters along the way to spend the night. As a family
To cross-country ski as a family, several trails are ideal for beginners with beautifully maintained trails, some of which give you the opportunity to practice on flat ground and over short distances to get started with ease. Several cross-country ski centres offer rentals, sometimes free of charge for participants under 18 at Parc national d’Oka, at Parc national du Mont-Tremblant, and at Parc régional Montagne du Diable.
For snowshoeing, several centres offer rentals. Parc du Domaine Vert in Mirabel has beginner and intermediate trails over shorter distances designed for young families. Parc régional de la Rivière-du-Nord in Saint-Jérôme, the Morin-Heights Outdoor Network, and the Club des Six Cantons in Rivière-Rouge offer snowshoeing for all levels and shelters to warm up.

There’s no reason to leave your fur baby at home! For a winter outing with your pet, Parc de la rivière Doncaster and Parc du Mont Loup-Garou in Sainte-Adèle, Centre de plein air Roger-Cabana in Saint-Hippolyte, the Wentworth-Nord trail network, Plein Air Saint-Adolphe-d’Howard, Parc écologique Le Renouveau Rosaire-Sénécal in Nominingue, and Camping du Domaine Lausanne in Ivry-sur-le-Lac await for a fun-filled day! Remember that your furry friend must be leashed at all times.
In the mountains
Head out for a mountain snowshoeing adventure in the Laurentians to enjoy panoramic viewpoints of the region and the beautiful, snowy trees! Calvaire d’Oka, rated easy in Parc national d’Oka, is a perfect place to start. Mont Condor and Mont King in Parc régional Val-David-Val-Morin are home to 8 km of trails with breathtaking viewpoints. Further north, in Sainte-Lucie-des-Laurentides, at L’Interval, Mont Kaaikop is a charmer with its clear summit. During your next visit to Parc national du Mont-Tremblant, don’t forget to check out the lovely viewpoint over Lac Monroe at the top of the Roche trail. There’s nothing better to reward your efforts!
