The village of Saint-Sauveur will take on a tropical atmosphere during the 10th edition of the Autentica Fiesta Cubana, to take place from August 30 to September 2. Festival-goers will truly feel like they are on holiday down South as the weekend is turned over to the warmth and richness of Cuban culture.
Exciting rhythms, colorful shows, Cuban foods, mojitos, Cuba libres and other typical cocktails served on the site by Cuban barmen will all contribute to heating up the atmosphere, come rain or shine. With its sandy beach, real palm trees, palapas, arts and crafts kiosks and souvenir shops, the Cuban Village will transform the St-Sauveur Valley down underneath Caribbean skies!
A number of artists from Cuba and Québec will perform including Carlos Placeres, who was awarded a Félix at the ADISQ gala in Québec, and the group Cubamanos from Manzanillo. Among other Québécois of Cuban origin, we’ll hear from, the Rubi trio, Son Très de Cuba, Hamalian and Proyecto Iré.
The fiesta will spread out from Parc Georges-Filion, with some dozen bars and restaurants adding a Cuban savor to their fare. Some of the participating artists will also be playing inside some of these establishments. Apart from the continuous musical shows being presented throughout the weekend, free Latin dance sessions will be held allowing visitors to swing to the beat of the salsa and learn a few steps.
