From June 22 to 25, Mont-Laurier hosts Haute-Voltige Laurentides, an exciting event pulsating with energy, very much in the image of its well-known spokesperson, Guillaume Lemay-Thivierge. Presented at the local aerodrome, the air show combines speed events and high-performance, including the prowess of the Snowbirds, CF-18 and various acrobatic aircraft, along with high-level parachuting demonstrations. All those passionate about aerial displays, who enjoy heady emotions or are simply curious can meet the pilots, take a helicopter ride and visit the exhibition of prototypes of aircraft and vehicles of the future.
The Upper Laurentian’s biggest ever event isn’t only about flying! For four days, downtown Mont-Laurier will be transformed from 4 p.m. into an acrobatic and gourmet fair in which the magic of the circus arts is combined with the discovery of some fine regional produce. Street entertainers, a carnival-like parade, circus and kite-flying workshops, artists and artisans’ kiosks, professional skateboard and BMX demonstrations, plus musical shows: lots and lots of free activities for the whole family!
And when night comes, the party continues with Fresque de nuit, a free outdoor show relating the history of the legends and folktales of the Upper Laurentians. This fantastic show, which will continue until August 4, is projected onto the Mont-Laurier cathedral and uses the latest technology to create a scene of marvel and wonder; it’s an unforgettable multisensory adventure!
A two-day passport for the aerial shows and various packages with lodging are available on the site: haute-voltigelaurentides.com
